QUESTIONS PARENTS ASK

GETTING STARTED
We coach athletes from 7 to 16. Juniors aged 7–10 work on coordination and clean movement patterns, 11–13 year olds are in the key technique window, and 14–16 year olds move into heavier acceleration and power work. The assessment tells us where your child actually sits.
No. Some of the biggest improvements we see come from kids who have been told their whole life that they are slow. Almost always they are not slow — they have simply never been taught to run.
Soccer, NRL and rugby league, rugby union, AFL, athletics, basketball, netball, cricket and touch football, among others. The mechanics of accelerating, sprinting and changing direction are the same across every code.
A full 60 minutes, one-on-one. We watch and film how your child currently runs, break the footage down, identify the specific mechanical faults costing them speed, coach the first corrections on the spot, and send you away with a clear plan.
Not a free one. The Trial Training Session is $49, reduced from the standard $150. It is a genuine full-length coaching session with a complete biomechanical assessment, not a sales pitch.
SESSIONS & TRAINING
Both, in that order. Your first session — the $49 Trial Training Session — is one-on-one, because a proper biomechanical assessment needs full attention on your child.
From that assessment we design a program specifically for them. They then train that program in our group sessions: 60 minutes, competitive, high-energy, with every athlete working through their own plan rather than everyone doing the same drills.
60 minutes, including warm-up, technical work and cool-down.
All sessions run outdoors on grass at Webbs Avenue Park, Auburn NSW 2144. Grass gives us a safe surface for repeated sprint work and enough open space to run at genuine top speed.
Monday to Friday: 2:00pm – 7:00pm
Saturday and Sunday: 12:00pm – 5:00pm
Running shoes or football boots, comfortable training clothes, and a full water bottle. If they normally train in orthotics, strapping or a brace, bring those too.
Light rain is fine and we train through it. If conditions make the ground unsafe for sprint work, we will contact you to reschedule at no cost.
Yes, and we would prefer you did. You will see exactly what we are correcting and hear the same cues your child is getting.
Once a week is enough to make real progress for most young athletes. Twice a week accelerates things in the off-season. We give you an honest recommendation after the assessment.
RESULTS & PROGRESS
Most parents notice a visible change in running form within three to four sessions. We are correcting a movement pattern rather than building fitness — a pattern can change in weeks, where fitness takes months.
Video comparison is the main tool. We film at the start and film again as the block progresses, then put the two side by side. For older athletes we also track timed sprint efforts.
They are the same thing. Speed is force applied into the ground in the right direction at the right time. The improved look is the by-product of the improved output.
Better mechanics generally mean better loading through the foot, knee and hip, which reduces some patterns associated with common hamstring, knee and ankle problems.
To be clear: Sprint Surge is performance coaching, not medical treatment. If your child has a current injury or pain, see your GP, physiotherapist or podiatrist first and get them cleared to run.
Yes. Tell us the date at your first session and we will structure the block around it, prioritising first-step acceleration, top-end speed and clean change of direction.
LOGISTICS & PAYMENT
Your first session is the Trial Training Session at $49, reduced from $150. That is a full 60-minute one-on-one session with a complete biomechanical assessment. Ongoing group session and block pricing is discussed after the trial. No lock-in contracts.
You can book and pay online for the Trial Training Session through the booking page, which takes card payment securely. Otherwise call or text 0469 299 161.
Give us at least 24 hours notice and we will reschedule at no charge. Sessions cancelled by us due to unsafe weather are always rescheduled free.
Sprint Surge is built for young athletes aged 7–16. If you are an adult athlete after sprint mechanics work, get in touch and we can talk about whether it is a fit.
Regular sessions run at Webbs Avenue Park in Auburn. For club or school group bookings, call 0469 299 161.
