REAL ATHLETE, REAL CHANGE

WEEK 1 VS WEEK 3. SAME ATHLETE.

This is what changes when a young athlete is actually taught to run. Not fitter. Not stronger. Just corrected.

THE PROBLEM

TALENT DOESN'T MATTER IF THEY GET CAUGHT

Most kids are never actually taught how to run. They train hard, they play every weekend — and they still lose the race to the ball.

CAUGHT FROM BEHIND

They break into open space with a clear head start, then get run down in the last twenty metres. It is not effort — it is mechanics leaking speed on every stride.

LOSING EVERY 50/50

The ball drops between two players and someone else always gets there first. The gap is won in the first three steps, and nobody has ever taught them how to take those steps.

RUNNING HARD, NOT FAST

Heels striking first, arms crossing the body, head dropping, knees never lifting. Maximum effort, minimum output — and it gets worse as they get tired.

WHAT WE COACH

FOUR THINGS THAT MAKE AN ATHLETE FASTER

Sprinter driving out of the start with clean mechanics

SPRINT MECHANICS

Posture, arm drive, knee lift and foot strike. We rebuild the running pattern itself so every stride returns more speed for the same effort.

ACCELERATION & FIRST STEP

Most sporting sprints are under fifteen metres. We train the drive phase and first-step quickness that decide almost every contest on the field.

AGILITY & CHANGE OF DIRECTION

Decelerate, plant, reaccelerate. We coach the cutting mechanics that beat defenders and protect knees and ankles at the same time.

STRENGTH & EXPLOSIVENESS

Age-appropriate power work that builds the force a young athlete can put into the ground — the single biggest driver of top speed.

Biomechanical Speed Coach · Head Coach, Sprint Surge

I do not coach running the way most people coach running. My background is podiatric medicine and sports biomechanics, so I look at how your child moves — the ankle, the hip, the foot strike, the line of force — and I find the specific thing that is costing them speed.

Then I fix it with cues a kid can understand and use on Saturday morning. No jargon, no generic drills, no running laps for the sake of it.

COMMON QUESTIONS

PARENTS USUALLY ASK

We coach athletes from 7 to 16. Juniors aged 7–10 work on coordination and clean movement patterns, 11–13 year olds are in the key technique window, and 14–16 year olds move into heavier acceleration and power work.

Both, in that order. Your first session — the $49 Trial Training Session — is one-on-one, because a proper biomechanical assessment needs full attention on your child. From that assessment we design a program specifically for them, which they then train in our group sessions.

No. Some of the biggest improvements come from kids who were told they were slow. If they play a sport and want to get better at it, they are the right fit.

Most parents notice a visible change in running form within three to four sessions, because we are correcting a movement pattern rather than building fitness.

All sessions run outdoors on grass at Webbs Avenue Park, Auburn NSW 2144. Training hours are Monday to Friday 2:00pm–7:00pm and Saturday to Sunday 12:00pm–5:00pm.
